Switching from Classic UI to Modern UI

Starting from VidyoConnect 20.2.0 release, you can switch from the Classic UI to a new and improved interface, the Modern UI.

Customers using Room System models HD-3, HD-2, HD-3C and HD-40C with Classic UI and have upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 IOT, can switch to the Modern UI. For additional information about upgrading your room system to Windows 10 IoT, refer to this article: Upgrading VidyoRoom System to Windows IoT. It describes how to upgrade and re-image your VidyoRoom system from Windows 7 to Windows 10 IoT.

You can switch either a single room system or multiple room systems from Classic UI to Modern UI.

To upgrade a single room system

  1. Download and save the Modern UI Installer (for example, VidyoConnectRoomInstaller-Win64-TAG_VP__xx_x_x_xxxx.exe).
  2. Open the Admin User Interface of the Room System (https://<ip address of the room system>).
  3. Log in to the Admin UI.
  4. Click the Firmware tab.

  5. In the Upload Installer-System will restart section, click Choose File.
  6. Navigate to where you downloaded the installer file and select it.
  7. Click Upload Installer to upload the installer file. The room system application restarts, displaying the Modern UI.

To upgrade multiple room systems

  1. Download and save the Modern UI Installer (for example, VidyoConnectRoomInstaller-Win64-TAG_VP__xx_x_x_xxxx.exe).
  2. Rename the Modern UI installer as Classic UI installer i.e., VidyoRoomSEInstaller-Win64-TAG_VP__xx_x_x_xxxx.exe
  3. Upload the renamed installer to VidyoPortal as an Administrator (from Settings >Manage Endpoint Software).  All room systems running on Windows 10 IoT and the Classic UI will download this newly updated build from the VidyoPortal and switch to Modern UI.

Any room system using the same version as the one uploaded will not download that version again from VidyoPortal so, to switch from Classic UI to Modern UI, use the different version/release.
