Follow

This article provides an outline of the steps Iron Bow vCLINiC™ administrators should take to configure their Iron Bow vCLINiC using the VidyoRoom™ Admin UI.

Before you begin the configuration using the Admin UI, ensure that you have installed your vCLINiC according to the instructions in the Iron Bow vCLINiC Installation and User Guide (CLINiC-VC-10XIR-A01), which is available from the Iron Bow Downloads page, and that you have read the About the Iron Bow vCLINiC (Powered by Vidyo™) article.

To configure the vCLINiC, follow the steps in the table below. The first column in the table lists the general configuration step, the second column provides links to articles where you can get more specific steps and other detailed information, and the last column describes any additional information you need to know as a vCLINiC administrator.

More Details
Information Specific
to vCLINiC
Log in to the VidyoRoom Admin UI. The "Logging In" section of the Admin UI: Using the Login and Settings Tabs article. None. Follow the steps as described in the section to log in for the first time using the default login credentials.
Configure the account settings, including the VidyoPortal™ FQDN and your user name and password. The "Configuring the Account Settings" section of the Admin UI: Using the Login and Settings Tabs article. None. Follow the steps as described in the section as configuring the account settings is the same for VidyoRoom and vCLINiC.
Configure the network settings.  The "Configuring the Network Settings" section of the Admin UI: Using the Login and Settings Tabs article. None. Follow the steps as described in the section.
Configure the WiFi settings.  The "Configuring the WiFi Settings" section of the Admin UI: Using the Login and Settings Tabs article.

The vCLINiC supports WiFi with 802.11n and 802.11ac speeds, 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bandwidth, and the WPA2 security protocol.

If you want to use WiFi with your Iron Bow vCLINiC, you must first have a wired connection in order to reach the Admin UI. Once you have accessed the Admin UI, you can then use the steps in the section to configure WiFi for your vCLINiC.

(To enable WiFi, click the 'Enable WiFi' option, then enter the SSID. Then,  enter a password and click Save.)

You must also ensure that the antennas are installed according to the Iron Bow vCLINiC Installation and User Guide.

Lastly, if you change the WiFi configuration, the system will continue to remember the original setting. For example, if you initially set the WiFi network to Vidyo1 and then change it to vCLINiC1, the system remembers both and can connect to either (and you cannot delete the original setting).

Configure the audio settings.  The "Configuring the Audio Settings" section of the Admin UI: Using the Login and Settings Tabs article. None. Follow the steps as described in the section.
Configure the advanced Phoenix settings.  The "Configuring the Advanced Phoenix Settings" section of the Admin UI: Using the Login and Settings Tabs article. Phoenix PowerHub or Quattro/Spider are optional
Configure the video settings. The "Configuring the Video Settings" section of the Admin UI: Using the Login and Settings Tabs article.

Follow the steps as described in the section.

Although not configured via the Settings > Video tab, the vCLINiC has a useful video feature called low-light mode (a.k.a., day/night mode) for vCLINiC users who use the standard VDO360 camera.

To enable low-light mode, press the Manage button and then press *01 on the infrared remote control when you’re not in a call and not using the OnScreen UI. To disable low-light mode, press the Manage button and then press *02. For example, if you’re in a room with a patient, you may want to enable or disable this mode when the overhead lights in the room are turned on or off.

Configure the content capturer.  The "Configuring the Content Capturer" section of the Admin UI: Using the Login and Settings Tabs article.

As a healthcare provider, you may be using the JEDMED Horus HD Digital Scope - Series 2 as the content share device with your vCLINiC. This device supports USB 1.1, is backward compatible, and can be connected to any USB port.

Other providers may have the INOGENI built-in the vCLINiC for content share from other medical devices/computes using an HDMI cable.

Configure preferences, such as Auto Answer, Join/Exit Tones, Screen Saver Timeout, and many more. The "Configuring Preferences" section of the Admin UI: Using the Login and Settings Tabs article. None. Follow the steps as described in the section, but be aware that some preferences may not apply to vCLINiC, such as Enable HDMI-CEC, Phoenix Super Sensitive Mode, Button Press URL, and others.
Configure the language and time zone.  The "Configuring the Language and Time Zone" section of the Admin UI: Using the Login and Settings Tabs article. None. Follow the steps as described in the section.
Configure calendar integration.  The "Configuring Calendar Integration" section of the Admin UI: Using the Login and Settings Tabs article. If you aren't using calendar integration, select the None radio button. Otherwise, follow the steps for Microsoft Exchange Calendar or Google Calendar as described in the section.
Configure the remote control.

The "Configuring the Remote Control Interface" section of the Admin UI: Using the Login and Settings Tabs article.

The User Guide: Using the Infrared Remote Control and the Radio Frequency Remote Control and the Quick Reference Card Getting Started with VidyoRoom Remote Controls articles.

The remote control will not work out-of-box and must be configured before use as described in the User Guide and Quick Reference Card articles listed in the previous column.
Design the display layout.  The "Designing the Display Layout" section of the Admin UI: Using the Display Layout, Logs, and Firmware Tabs article. Only a single screen is used so options are limited; however, the default option should work for all.
Set the system time.  The "Setting the System Time" section of the Admin UI: Using the Display Layout, Logs, and Firmware Tabs article. None. Follow the steps as described in the section.
Configure the reboot maintenance schedule, (only if needed).  The "Configuring the Reboot Maintenance Schedule" section of the Admin UI: Using the Display Layout, Logs, and Firmware Tabs article. None. Follow the steps as described in the section.
Set the log levels, (only if needed).  The "Setting the Log Levels and Accessing the Log Files" section of the Admin UI: Using the Display Layout, Logs, and Firmware Tabs article. None. Follow the steps as described in the section for setting the log levels. You can refer back to this section later if you need information about accessing log files.
Configure your Internet Explorer settings, if needed. The "Configuring Your Internet Explorer" section of the Admin UI: Using the Display Layout, Logs, and Firmware Tabs article. Follow the steps in this section only if you are planning to access the VidyoRoom Admin UI via an Internet Explorer browser.
Perform a firmware update, if needed.  The "Performing a Firmware Update" section of the Admin UI: Using the Display Layout, Logs, and Firmware Tabs article.

If you need to perform a firmware update, you must upload the image using a wired connection. If you try to perform an image upload via WiFi, the upload may take a very long time and/or it may be interrupted, which would require you to restart the upload.

For the vCLINiC, you must use the VidyoRoom SE (Software Edition) installer, which is available from the VidyoRoom Packages downloads page. To perform the update, either upload the VidyoRoom SE installer as described in the "Performing a Firmware Update" section or upload the VidyoRoom SE installer to the Portal client installer download page.

Also, for the vCLINiC, the Write Protection Mode field does not appear on the Firmware tab.

Upload a UI background, if desired.  The "Uploading UI Backgrounds" section of the Admin UI: Using the UI, Statistics, Reset Password, Network Tools, Shutdown, and About Tabs article. None. Follow the steps as described in the section if you want to upload a UI background.
View the system statistics, if desired.  The "Viewing the Statistics" section of the Admin UI: Using the UI, Statistics, Reset Password, Network Tools, Shutdown, and About Tabs article. None. Follow the steps as described in the section if you want to view the statistics.
Reset the Admin UI password, if needed or desired.  The "Resetting the Password" section of the Admin UI: Using the UI, Statistics, Reset Password, Network Tools, Shutdown, and About Tabs article. None. Follow the steps as described in the section if you want to reset the password.
