Announcing VidyoConnect Version 17.3.0

With the release of version 17.3.0, Vidyo is happy to announce that Vidyo Neo™ is now VidyoConnect, our enterprise meeting solution for team collaboration.

Version 17.3.0 includes the release of VidyoConnect for Desktop and Mobile, both with our next-generation user interface (UI). The VidyoConnect UI lets you enjoy all the features of Vidyo Neo, plus a unified experience across desktop and mobile devices. If you're currently a VidyoDesktop™ user, upgrading to VidyoConnect provides you with a modern and easy-to-navigate UI as well as enhanced functionality.

Additionally, this release includes version 17.3.0 of our portal. Both the Tenant Admin and Super Admin interfaces have been updated with the new VidyoConnect name and logo. While we were busy making those updates, we also resolved some issues to enhance system performance.

What's New in VidyoConnect for Desktop?

SIP/H.323 Endpoint Dial-Out

  • SIP/H.323 endpoints have always had the ability to dial in to Vidyo meetings. However, with the availability of the new SIP/H.323 endpoint dial-out feature, you can now dial out to these endpoints and invite them into your Vidyo meeting. To initiate a call, simply click the new button and then enter a SIP dial string or the IP address of an H.323 endpoint.

Camera and Microphone Status

  • The VidyoConnect Participants list displays the name of everyone in the call as well as icons indicating whether each participant’s camera and microphone are muted.
  • Prior to this release, only registered users could see the camera and microphone status, but now guest users can also see the device status for all participants in the call.

What's New in VidyoConnect for Mobile?

The VidyoConnect mobile app lets you search for, join, and host multipoint video conferencing meetings from your iPhone®, iPad®, or Android device.

Logging In and Dialing Features

  • Log in easily and quickly with SAML authentication.
  • Automatically reconnect to your call when transient network conditions occur.
  • Dial out to SIP and H.323 endpoints.

In-Call Features

  • View shared meeting content.
  • Customize the video layout with up to four onscreen participants for phones and up to eight onscreen participants for tablets.

           
  • Increase the size of a participant or the shared content with pinch-to-zoom and real-time panning.
  • View the list of participants, including which participants are guests, and chat with them during the meeting.
  • Enjoy in-call device controls such as muting your microphone and camera, and flipping to use the front-facing and rear-facing camera.
  • Search for your meeting rooms.

  • If you're a cloud customer, we'll take care of the upgrade for you. You'll also receive a separate Product Bulletin with more details about how the VidyoConnect upgrade will affect your Vidyo Neo or VidyoDesktop applications.

  • If you're currently using VidyoDesktop, we encourage you to upgrade to VidyoConnect to access all the latest features. However, unlike with Vidyo Neo, if you have the VidyoDesktop application installed, this won't happen automatically. Please contact us to initiate the upgrade, and click here to learn more about what to expect.

  • If you're a mobile customer, you can get the VidyoConnect app from the Google Play™ Store or the Apple® App Store. Please download the app and then contact us.
