VidyoConnect for Desktop Version 18.2.0: General Availability Release

Vidyo Is Pleased to Announce VidyoConnect for Desktop Version 18.2.0

As VidyoConnect for Desktop continues to evolve, we want to announce our newest device control feature: the Speaker button. This feature allows you to quickly disable the audio in the VidyoConnect application. Read more below.

What's New?

Devices Control

  • With VidyoConnect for Desktop version 18.2.0, you can now control your speaker in a call similarly to how you mute and unmute your microphone and camera. To mute the conference speaker, simply click the new Speaker button that is located to the left of the Microphone button within the VidyoConnect for Desktop application.

  • You can also right-click the Speaker button to switch between different devices. When using a Firefox® browser, you can mute and unmute the speaker; however, you cannot right-click the Speaker button to select a new device.

  • The new Speaker feature is available with the VidyoConnect desktop and WebRTC applications.  The Speaker feature is not yet available for mobile devices.

Resolved Issues

  • In this release, we’ve continued to improve the usability and reliability of VidyoConnect by resolving a number of issues.
  • Sign up for announcements at the Vidyo Status Page by selecting Subscribe in the top right.  You can now visit this site anytime to view past and current product bulletins and cloud-related announcements.

  • If you're a VidyoConnect cloud customer, we will upgrade your portal for you over the next week. Please share this upgrade with your users and direct them to the Using VidyoConnect section of the Vidyo Help Center to learn more.

  • If you're currently using VidyoDesktop, we encourage you to upgrade to VidyoConnect to access all the latest features. However, if you have the VidyoDesktop application installed, this won't happen automatically. Please contact us to initiate the upgrade, and click here to learn more about what to expect.

  • If you're a VidyoConnect on-premise customer, go ahead and download the software from the Client-Side Packages section on the Vidyo Help Center.
