Connecting and Disconnecting Your Email Calendar Client from VidyoConnect

VidyoConnect™ allows you to integrate your Exchange or Google® calendar so that you are aware of every meeting that is scheduled on your calendar per day without having to leave the VidyoConnect app.

Connecting Your Exchange Calendar with VidyoConnect

Vidyo uses Exchange Web Services (EWS) when integrating with your Exchange calendar. We use email addresses to authenticate users instead of a username, which may confuse most exchange security admins since they don't usually authenticate in this manner.

To connect your exchange calendar with VidyoConnect:

  1. Click  from the left panel if not already selected.

  2. Click the Exchange button.



    The Meeting Setup Exchange pop-up appears.



  3. Enter your Exchange email address and password in the designated fields.

  4. Click the Connect button.

    VidyoConnect will attempt to connect your Exchange calendar. If you receive a "Could not connect to the Calendar services due to an error. Please try again" error message, then the Exchange URL field will appear as shown in the screenshot below. Vidyo's default Exchange URL is https://<server host>/Ews/exchange.asmx. Your Exchange user ID may be required for some environments and you may need to validate with your administrator.



  5. Enter the following information if you've encountered the "Could not connect to the Calendar services due to an error. Please try again" error message:
    • Exchange URL
    • User ID if applicable based on environment used
  6. Click the Connect button.

Connecting Your Google Calendar with VidyoConnect

To connect your Google calendar with VidyoConnect:

  1. Click  from the left panel if not already selected.

  2. Click the Google button.



    The Google pop-up displays.



  3. Click the Connect button.

    The Gmail Sign in page displays in your default browser.



  4. Select the appropriate Gmail account that is listed and proceed to step 7 or click Use another account and proceed to steps 5 and 6.

  5. Enter your email address and click the Next button.

  6. Enter your password and click the Next button.

    A new page appears.

  7. Click the Allow button to allow vidyocloud.com to manage your Google calendar.



    You are redirected to a new page where Google is attempting to authorize your Google account.

  8. Click the Open URL:vidyo Protocol button.



  9. You are redirected back to the VidyoConnect app.

    The Google pop-up appears confirming that you’re connected to your Google calendar.



Disconnecting Your Email Calendar from VidyoConnect

To disconnect your calendar integration from VidyoConnect:

  1. Click your avatar on the upper right of the VidyoConnect app.

  2. Click the Calendar Integration option.



    Either the Meeting Setup Exchange or Google pop-up appears depending upon which email calendar client you have integrated with the app.

  3. Click the Disconnect button.
