When getting ready for any video conference there are a few things you can do to ensure an excellent experience every time you meet.

 

Connect over a Computer:

  • Requirements: A computer, microphone and speakers, camera, and a network connection.
    • Windows: 10, 8.1, 7 MacOS: 10.11 and higher
  • Network Connection: Opt for a hard-wired connection instead of Wi-Fi.
  • Resource Availability: Close unnecessary applications before connecting.
  • Device Access: If prompted, you must grant access to your camera & microphone.
  • Camera Positioning: Center yourself within the camera frame.
  • Audio: Use earbuds with in-line mic for high-quality audio.
    • If you do not have earbuds ensure you are in a quiet, private location.
    • Mute your microphone when not speaking.
  • Lighting: Place lighting in front of your face but behind your device to illuminate your face.

 

Connect over a Mobile Device:

  • Requirements: An Android or iOS device with a current operating system.
  • Network Connection: Opt for Wi-Fi instead of a data connection. Data rates apply.
    • Test your connection prior to your video visit. Try streaming a video to test your connection.
    • Don't switch between Wi-Fi & data connections in-call. This will cause a call disconnection.
  • Resource Availability: Close unnecessary applications before connecting.
  • Device Access: If prompted, you must grant access to your camera & microphone.
  • Device Positioning: Hold devices steady to prevent distraction.
  • Audio: Use earbuds with in-line mic for high-quality audio.
    • If you do not have earbuds ensure you are in a quiet, private location.
    • Mute your microphone when not speaking.
  • Lighting: Place lighting in front of your face but behind your device to illuminate your face.
