What's New in this Release
This release package contains the Vidyo plugin along with the tested WDE versions 8.5.111.xx and 8.5.117.xx. The installation package files for the WDE plugin binaries are split into two zip files in the WorkspaceDesktopEdition folder, which are as follows:
- WorkspacePlug-in_Vidyo_17.2.1.0-111.21_09282017.zip, supports WDE 8.5.111.xx
- WorkspacePlug-in_Vidyo_17.2.1.0-117.26_09112017.zip, supports WDE 8.5.117.xx
The zip file naming convention has changed since the last release to the following: WorkspacePlug-in_Vidyo_<version-plugin>-<version-wde>_<release-date>.zip.
Here's what's new in this release:
- SIP-based Recording
- If you need to record your Vidyo meetings for compliance, training, or other purposes, you can now do so with VidyoEngage™ for Genesys. Version 17.2.1 supports interoperability with industry-standard SIP-based recording solutions such as Verint® and NICE® Systems.
- Shorter Meeting Room Links
- When Agents want their customers to join them on a Vidyo call, the Agents provide the customers with a meeting room link. Prior to this release, these links were long (like this https://vidyocloud.com/flex.html?roomdirect.html&key=FQQzia89), but now the links are shorter and simpler (like this https://vidyocloud.com/join/x26NG2i3).
- VidyoClient Updates
- We've upgraded VidyoEngage for Genesys so that it now uses the latest VidyoClient library. In addition, TLS 1.2 is now supported.
- To improve troubleshooting capabilities, we've moved the VidyoClient log file out of the Users folder to a new location in the c:\Logs\WorkspaceDesktop\wde_test\ folder.
- Simplified Widget Code and New Widgets Developer Guide
- We've simplified the Widget code and created a Widgets Developer Guide.
- New browser widget sample applications for Click-to-Vidyo and Chat-to-Vidyo use cases are now available.
- The Widgets Developer Guide includes Click-to-Vidyo (WebSocket), Chat-to-Vidyo (REST), and Chat-to-Vidyo (eServices) information and installation guidelines.
- Linux Support
- Vidyo Server now supports the Linux platform.
- Resolved Issues
- This release fixes a number of issues to enhance the reliability and usability of VidyoEngage for Genesys. Some of the issues that we've resolved include:
- When agents invite experts to their Vidyo meetings, the experts can now successfully join the meetings even if they don't have credentials to the Vidyo server portal (that is, they can join as a guest).
- If the VidyoEngage for Genesys workspace window is switched between Maximize and Restore, the agent's video now scales correctly.
- We've improved the Vidyo client sign-off and stop mechanism when an interaction closes. Now, after the last agent leaves the conference, the conference closes and any remaining participants are removed.
- Agents can now have multiple VidyoEngage for Genesys interactions open at their desktop. Only one Vidyo session can be active at one time; however the agent can switch between the interactions without losing any open Vidyo sessions.
