VidyoRoom - Content Sharing With Mac OS Devices

Follow

Issue

We are having an issue attempting to share MAC computers via our VidyoRoom. Windows PC works fine.

Questions:

  1. Does VIDYO support HDCP?
  2. Does the DVI to USB adaptor that ships with VIDYO support HDCP?

Explanation:

Mac OS devices will force *HDCP connections by default when attempting to share content through mini-display port/Thunderbolt ports.

The INOGENI DVI to USB adapter does not support HDCP as it would break the compliancy to display HDCP content. For more information, please see INOGENI's website.

Solution:
In order to properly share content, you must use the HDMI port on the MacBook Pro. Macbook air and Macbook's do not support non-hdcp compliancy.

*High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) is a form of digital copy protection developed by Intel Corporation[1] to prevent copying of digital audio and video content as it travels across connections.
